Following the recent death of FRANK W. BUCKLES, the hardships of WORLD WAR ONE, as seen through the eyes of Americans who fought during WORLD WAR ONE, ceased to be a living speaking national memory, where what remains of the history of WORLD WAR ONE, are NOW ONLY historical records, published books, modern documentary films, photographs, aging documents, old diaries, perserved letters to home from the front-line European Battlefield Trenches, silent movies, post World War One Recorded Interviews of Veterans, and stone carved weather torn monuments, with metalic steel letter engraved rusting plates.

"FRANK W. BUCKLES was a true honorable American Hero."     -March 15, 2011.

"During early January, 1991, just prior to the official start of the 1991 Gulf War, as a U.S. Army Soldier of the Second Armored Division (FWD), which took over as the lead U.S. Military Front Line element, of the Ground Battle,  during the second day of the Ground War against Iraqi Forces,  our platoon was given examples of how brave the U.S. Soldiers were during World War One, in order to inspire younger 1991 U.S. Soldiers who were waiting to 'GO OVER THE TOP' to Battle hostile experienced enemy forces in Southern Iraq, to also be brave."

=> Prior to the 1991 Gulf War, {OPERATION DESERT STORM}, the U.S. Army, on a Mass Scale, had NOT participated in Front-Line Ground Combat, since the close of the Vietnam War in 1975.

=> During the 1991 Gulf War, {OPERATION DESERT STORM}, the U.S. ArmySecond Armored Division (FWD), even without recent combat experience, fought the IRAQI REPUBLICAN GUARD, where these same IRAQI ARMED FORCES, had direct recent Combat Experience, dating back throughout the past 10 years, while fighting boarder wars with IRAN.

=> During the 1991 Gulf War, {OPERATION DESERT STORM}, the U.S. Army, Second Armored Division (FWD), faced a highly Combat experienced IRAQI REPUBLICAN GUARD - Elite Iraqi Armored Forces, with auxillary Iraqi Military Forces, which vastly outnumbered the U.S.  Armed Forces, to include the U.S. Army, which were in the Middle East, at that time

OPERATION DESERT STORM - 1991 Persian Gulf War. - Liberation of Kuwait War.
1991 Persian Gulf War. = OPERATION DESERT STORM: February 24 - 28, 1991.

"In 1991, just prior to when the shooting started, just prior to the official start of the 1991 Gulf War, a Senior U.S. Army Sergeant, told our platoon, he saw '90 year old World War One Veterans,' a few months ago, at a 'VFW-Veterans of Foriegn Wars' tavern, who were drinking Beer and having a good time, who several decades previously, had been 'gassed' while in Combat, during World War One, as an example to 1991 U.S. Soldiers, to NOT be afraid of the poison gass, it was perceived, at that time, the Iraqi Military was going to use on us soon."

"Later, during January, 1991, while in SAUDI ARABIA, near the boarder of IRAQ, an Iraqi Military, Soviet Made, Launched SCUD MISSILE(s), exploded over our U.S. Army camp, after being struck-down by one of our American-Made, U.S. Army, PATRIOT Anti-Aircraft Guided Missile(s), which were intended by Sadam Hussein's IRAQI Government, to KILL all of us."

"During this initial January, 1991, AIR-RAID by Iraqi Forces upon our U.S. Army Camp in Saudi Arabia, with Soviet-Made SCUD MISSILES, while being inspired by the example set by WORLD WAR ONE U.S. Military Veterans, our 1991 U.S. Army Soldiers, prepared correctly for POISON GASS, which where perceived, were going to be delivered, by 1991 Iraqi Launched Guided SCUD MISSILES."

OPERATION DESERT STORM: February 24 - 28, 1991. Southern Iraq and Kuwait.

"When we went 'OVER THE TOP'  on February 24, 1991, in addition to bravery examples set by U.S. WORLD WAR ONE Veterans, crossing the boarder of Saudi Arabia into Southern Iraq, with the spirit of 'GARRY OWEN' a U.S. Patriotic Song from the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry, during the height of the savage U.S. Indian Wars, {1775 - 1890},  we had faced the same type of overwhelming BLOODY SAVAGES, who we knew, would give NO QUATER to prisoners, which the forces of U.S. Army General George Armstrong Custer, had faced on the Battlefields of MONTANA, during June 25th, 1876."**

"Due to the patriotic examples set by U.S. Military Veterans during WORLD WAR ONE, in addition to the patriotic examples set by U.S. Army Cavalry Soldiers, throughout the U.S. Indian Wars, we went 'OVER THE TOP' on February 24, 1991, from Saudi Arabia, into IRAQ, to battle Elite Iraqi Republican Guard Armored Forces, who were waiting for us, on the other side, of the well entrenched boarder between SAUDI ARABIA and IRAQ, during the 1991 Gulf War, as known as, {OPERATION DESERT STORM} ."

1991 Persian Gulf War. = Operation Desert Storm: February 24 - 28, 1991.
1991 GULF WAR

"On the second day of the Ground War, during the 1991 Gulf War, after 'GOING OVER THE TOP' from Saudi Arabia into Southern Iraq, from a large entrenched area, known as the 'Neutral Zone' we as U.S. Regular Army Soldiers, in the U.S. Army Second Armored Division (FWD), took over the FRONT LINE of the attack which defeated the ELITE IRAQI REPUBLICAN GUARD ARMORED FORCES, and recaptured KUWAIT from IRAQI Military Occupation, through a large Armored - Tank - Mechanized Infantry Battle, known a OPERATION DESERT STORM, while fighting with the spirit, created by patriotic examples set by U.S. Soldiers during all previous U.S. Military Conflicts, plus all official U.S. declared Wars, especially WORLD WAR ONE, with special appreciation for the clear patriotic examples set by the U.S. Army Cavalry during the U.S. Indian Wars."

"OPERATION DESERT STORM, during the 1991 Gulf War, was the largest Armored - Tank - Mechanized Infantry Battle, during the entire 20th Century, in the Deserts of the Middle East, since the close of World War Two, where the U.S. Army first utilized Tank -Armored Forces, {to  replace the old U.S. ARMY Horse Cavalry of previous generations, known as the U.S. CAVALRY}, during WORLD WAR ONE."

U.S. Military - South West Asia Campaign Medal. - 1991 Persian Gulf War. - Operation Desert Storm. = Front & Back side of the 1991 Gulf War Campaign Medal

"The United States had ONLY THREE Official Declared Wars during the 20th CenturyWORLD WAR ONE, WORLD WAR TWO, and the 1991 GULF WAR."

"The 1991 Gulf War, which became 'OPERATION DESERT STORM' was the LAST Official U.S. Declared War of the 20th Century."

"WORLD WAR ONE, the FIRST Official U.S. Declared War of the 20th Century, set the standard of brave conduct, for all U.S. Military Forces, fighting in all U.S. Conflicts, and fighting in all Official Declared U.S. Wars, throughout the 20th Century, well into 21st Century Times."

"FRANK W. BUCKLES was a true honorable American Hero."     -March 15, 2011.

GENERAL "LTC" GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER

**NOTE:  During June, 1876, one time U.S. Civil War General, GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER, held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel "LTC," in the U.S. Regular Army Cavalry, during the Battle of the Little-Big Horn, in MONTANA.

=> The U.S. Army would have been victorious, if LTC Custer would have followed orders, to wait at the Little-Big Horn River, for elements of General Crook's U.S. Army detachments to arrive, instead of attempting to assault a camp of Savage Indians, who were too large for the 7th U.S. Cavalry to handle alone, without reinforcements from the U.S. Army

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Battle of Little Big Horn, Montana.

June 25, 1876.

LTC George Custer, was ALSO credited for LOSING  the June 25th, 1876 Battle of Little-Big Horn, in Montana, due to:

===  [1.]
    Splitting up the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry into three elements, where, all three elements lost communication of each other during the battle while each element of the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry faced overwhelming numbers of Savage Indian assaults from all directions, where  each of these U.S. Army elements were unable to assist each other while being attacked by countless Hostile Indians.

===  [2.]
    Bringing the WRONG AMMUNITION for the U.S. Army Rifles to the Battle, where after firing a single rifle round, U.S. Soldiers were  NOT able to reload for additional shots due to the cartridge being JAMMED in the Rifle Breech, due to being the wrong size, where upon attempting to remove each JAMMED CARTRIDGE with a bayonet, each U.S. Soldier was assaulted by countless Indians, due to being unable to reload his rifle, during critical moments of the battle.

===  [3.]
  Failing to bring Light Artillery, and Gattling Guns "19th Century Machine Guns," to the Battle, because LTC Custer felt such modern 1876 technology, would "SLOW HIM DOWN," he believed, while chasing hostile Indians.

=> During the June, 1876 Battle of the Little-Big Horn, in MONTANA, the element of the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry led by LTC George Custer was COMPLETELY wiped out, by overwhelming Indian attacks.

=> CAPTAIN BENTEEN, who commanded one of the three of the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry elements, during the June 25, 1876 Battle of Little-Big Horn, was given credit, for saving the day, by "KEEPING COOL," when faced by waves of countless hostile Indian attacks, after losing contact with the U.S. Army element led by LTC George Custer.

"CUSTER's LAST STAND."

====> During the Chaos of the Battle of Little Big-Horn, in Montana, June 25, 1876, after losing contact with LTC George Armstrong Custer's elements, and elements of the U.S. 7th Cavalry led by Major Reno, when faced by overwhelming countless Savage Indian Assaults, CAPTAIN BENTEEN formed his element of the U.S. Army - 7th Cavalry into a defensive parameter, which fought off countless Indian assaults, which became a base, during the chaotic battle, for other U.S. Soldiers to join up with, as the intensity of battle scattered several U.S. soldiers from their units.

=====> The actions of CAPTAIN BENTEEN, by forming a defensive line, during the Battle of Little-Big Horn, in Montana, during June 25, 1876, saved the U.S. Army - 7th Cavalry from complete destruction, where CAPTAIN BENTEEN'S element repelled countless Savage Indian Assaults, and saved the day !!!

=> Within Two Weeks, after the June, 1876 Battle of the Little-Big Horn, the Hostile Indians who had fought the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry, were fleeing to Canada for fear of the U.S. Military, general COWARDISM when having to fight against equal numbers of U.S. Soldiers, and/or, surrendering to the U.S. Military due to starvation.

=> Most U.S. Soldiers, who lost their lives during the June 25, 1876 Battle of the Little-Big Horn, in MONTANA, especially in the element of the U.S. Army Cavalry, led by LTC George Custer, had their remains disgraced by savage Indians, where the Indians had taken part in Canabolism upon the remains of fallen U.S. Soldiers.

=> During 1890, at WOUNDED KNEE, South Dakota, Indian Reservation, after the Indians surrendered under official treaty contract with the U.S. Government, 14 years later, the reformed U.S. Army 7th Cavalry was called in stop the "GHOST DANCE," Indian Up-Rising, which was in violation with the contract treaty, which the Hostile Indians had signed with the U.S. Government.

===>  After the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee, the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry, faced the same number of Hostile Indians, and won the battle, instead of being vastly outnumbered, which was the case, 14 years earlier, during June, 1876 at the Battle of the Little-Big Horn, in Montana.

===> Following the 1890, Battle of Wounded Knee, South Dakota, Savage Indians ceased to be a problem for the U.S. Military, and became a problem of U.S. Law Enforcement, which officially ended the U.S.  Indian Wars:  1775 - 1890.

===> To this date, during the year 2011, descendents of Savage Hostile Indians, FALSELY CLAIM the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee, was a War Crime committed by the U.S. Army, which it was NOT, where during 1890 at Wounded Knee, South Dakota, AGAINST armed "Hostile Indian Braves," were hiding behind their women and children, and then took shots at U.S. Soldiers, where the U.S. Army 7th Cavalry, then returned fire, to the initial shots, which were fired by the Savage Armed Hostile Indians.

===> As a reserve element, to lead an additional assault against the Armed Hostile Indians, during the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee, the famed U.S. Army "BUFFALO SOLDIERS," a Famed "Indian-Fighting U.S. Army Cavalry Unit," was sent in, if more U.S. Soldiers were needed to defeat the Hostile Indians

The CROW INDIAN TRIBE was LOYAL to the United States Government, during the U.S. - Indian Wars: 1865 through 1890; and, served the U.S. Army as both as Scouts, and as Auxillery Soldiers in countless battles against Savage Hostile Indian Tribes.

Overwelmingly, MOST U.S. Military Personnel, dating back to where there was NO UNITED STATES, during the time of the first North American English colonies, to the time of the English Knight named SIR WALTER RALEIGH, and the English Queen, named 'Queen Elizabeth the First,' the American Fighting Forces, going beyond the American Revolution which began during 1775, had served America with true honor.

FRANK W. BUCKLES, remains part of this great American Tradition, as the final passing of the last surviving, U.S. Military World War One Veteran.

My condolences to the family of Frank Buckles. I remember seeing the the opening of the Ken Burns Civil War documentary that the last veteran of that war died in 1959, just short of 100 years after the start of the war in 1861. The timing of Buckles's death is very similar, coming in 2011 a few years shy of the start of World War I in 1914. I also saw on TV the other that about 1000 World War II veterans are dying each day now. According to the preceding trends, all World War II veterans will be deceased by 2040. Let us pay our respects to those of the "Greatest Generation" while they are still with us.

On the eve of  the 10th year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack upon, New York City, Washington DC, and upon the United States, coming close to EXACTLY 10 years ago, this coming September 11, 2011, we must remember all PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE American Heroes.

We must also remember, within ALL AMERICAN Conflicts, going back to when  the FIRST ENGLISH COLONIES were established off the coast of North Carolina by the legal Royal London English charter, established by the Royal English Knight named, Sir WALTER RALEIGH, through the Patronage of QUEEN ELIZABETH I, and official UNITED STATES declared wars,  to include all un-declared UNITED STATES Wars or Conflicts, following 1775, the Americans have always been attacked first, by ALL AMERICAN enemies.

We must remember all American HEROES during this coming September 11, 2011.
