What is meant by DIRECT COMBAT, is best explained as TRADITIONAL INFANTRY STYLE COMBAT.

=> George Bush (Sr.) was a fighter pilot in World War Two who took part in air to air battles between enemy aircraft.

=>John F. Kennedy was famous as the commander of PT 109, a PT Boat in the U.S. Navy during World War Two, which took part in action, in the Pacific Ocean.

Both George Bush (Sr.) and John F. Kennedy were Combat Heroes in their own right.

TEDDY ROOSELVELT led U.S. Soldiers against an armed enemy, during a Traditional Infantry Cavalry style battle, in Cuba during the 1898 Spanish-American War.

The U.S. Enlisted Soldiers Charged up the hill, led by some U.S. Officers who led the charge by horse back, or on foot, in Cuba during 1898.

The entire event is a historic record.
