I'm wondering this myself. It's so marvelously kitsch and retro-- the mixed use of painfully bright colors, the all-caps text, the exclamation points!!! :) And has anyone else actually used red lettering on a black background since 1998? I suspect this isn't a serious campaign, but something invented by the guys at The Daily Show or Steven Colbert as a joke to make fun of Republicans. The whole thing is tries too hard to look amateur, like a Geocities site from the late 90s. Middle school kids do better than this nowadays. Really, the pics of Reagan, The Duke, Teddy Roosevelt, etc., all smashed together and littered with a rainbow of taglines, are just way too over the top to be meant seriously. This is a brilliant piece of political satire. Now someone needs to turn the tables and invent a ridiculous looking Democratic campaign website. Expect that Republicans would never stoop to such antics as these; no need for gimmicks (even one so beautifully done as this laughable mashup) when the issues speak for themselves.

Bravo, whoever you are! I hope Jon Stewart offers you a job immediately!

I have a few constructive comments. First, I think this site needs a guestbook. And, did you consider animated GIFs? I think they'd really classy up the site and add some technical sophistication to what you're going for. Also, the flaming counter on the bottom on the page, first rate, good design instincts with that one.

Oh, also, did you consider a guestbook and maybe some frames on the left side of the page? I like what you're doing here, keep up the good work.

Right now I am applying for a Webmaster training program. By the time I have completed this program, I will be fully prepared to offer my skills to develop this website. Who knows? By the time I'm done, Congressman Hutchins will be in Washington and I will be maintaining his website.

We might bring in a BARON VON STEUBEN type figure of web designer, to raise the website into a higher 21st Century level of quality, if need be.

This hardly is NOT a VALLEY FORGE of the HUTCHINS Campaign, but this 1990's style of web design delivers an effective message, is easy to download on most computers, is friendly to most internet provider services, and receives many hits, where most comments are positive.

=>  At the time of this post, our website is at more than ONE MILLION, THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND, hits and more coming.

==> TOTAL HITS on  www.georghutchins.com  February 21, 2010, at 11:00 AM, U.S. East Coast time: {1,397,226}

The images are clear enough for public view, and deliver a good solid message to the public, at this time.

If anyone really wants to assist the campaign, please apply to join one of our 3 Meetup Groups by clicking on the JOIN Hutchins icon.

One will find the three Meetup Group Website Designs are done with 21st Century Standards.

To Join one, or all three of our Meetup Groups, members do NOT have to reside in the North Carolina 4th U.S. Congress District, NOR attend Meetings either.

All Membership is Free of Charge, and LEGAL by Law worldwide.

One does NOT have to live in North Carolina, NOR in the United States, to Join our Hutchins Campaign Meetup Groups Either.

Here is what would help.

1st, Obama's victory was in a large part due to his use of the web.  The Hutchins campaign has taken an important 1st step in this direction.  But it needs video of Mr Hutchins speaking.  Mr Hutchins should make some videos of him speaking to the viewer where he expresses his hopes and desires for America.

People will not vote for someone they do not know.  Reagan was successful because he came accross as a friend.  George Hutchins has some great ideas and I would like to see him elected.  By maing videos and posting them on Youtube we can see the real George Hutchins and what he is made of (patriot, fought for his country, educated etc).  This will go a long way towards his victory.

Please Mr Hutchins, do this and help take back the congress.  A lot of us are pulling for you.

I think the people criticizing this website are a bunch of whiny liberals who don't GET IT.

Unlike President OSAMA, George Hutchins doesn't worry about non-sense.  He's got more important things to think about, like I don't know, turning the economy around and stopping the tide of SOCIALISM.  Anyone who has time to critisize someone else's sense of taste obviously doesn't have any real problems the way the rest of us do.  If all you have to share are smart-@$$ comments about the design of this website, then SHUT UP.

I SUPPORT GEORGE HUTCHINS AND I SUPPORT HIS WEBSITE.

WE MUST STOP:
BARACK
HUSSEIN
OSAMA (OOPS, I MEAN OBAMA)

EASY TO GET THOSE TWO CONFUSED, HUH?

Hi

I don't want my comment about Mr Hutchins putting up a video to be seen as criticism.  I think this site is great and a video would only make it better.

Go get em George!  You are the Republicans best chance!
