You talk a lot about your service in the FULL-TIME U.S. Marine Corps, and the FULL-TIME U.S. Regular Army.

Does this mean you consider the efforts of the women and men in the reserves and national guard to be inferior to those serving in the regular armed forces?  Reservists and national guardsmen have been in combat in Afghanistan since 2001 and in Iraq since 2003.  Surely their experience is no different.

HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION:

You talk a lot about your service in the FULL-TIME U.S. Marine Corps, and the FULL-TIME U.S. Regular Army.

Does this mean you consider the efforts of the women and men in the reserves and national guard to be inferior to those serving in the regular armed forces?  Reservists and national guardsmen have been in combat in Afghanistan since 2001 and in Iraq since 2003.  Surely their experience is no different.

Most of the reasons, to make it very clear of what took place, was to set the RECORD STRAIGHT, of what organizations I was in, when I spoke of specific military service, it was vital to mention: Full-Time U.S. Regular Army, and Full-Time U.S. Marine Corps.

During the periods of time when I was in the Full-Time U.S. Regular Army, {1979 - 1982} & {1988 - 1992}, and in the Full-Time U.S. Marine Corps, {1996 - 2000}, there was a BIG DIFFERENCE, between FULL TIME REGULAR U.S. Military and U.S. Military Reserves to include the National Guard.

=> During this period of time, 1979 - 2000, there were persons who did NOT QUALIFY for Full-Time U.S. REGULAR Military Service, but were allowed to join the U.S. Military Reserves or the National Guard.

=> Also during this period of time, 1979 - 2000, due to the TOUGHER QUALIFICATIONS to be in the Full-Time U.S. Regular Military, than the U.S. Military Reserves {National Guard}, The U.S. Full-Time Regular Military Veterans received better benefits.

=> During the 1991 Gulf War, OPERATION DESERT STORM, it was the Full-Time U.S. Regular Military, who took part in most Front Line Combat Operations, because we had better NEWER equipment {Weapons, Weapon Systems, etc.,} and we trained to fight these types of battles FULL-TIME.

==> The Reserves, and National Guard Units, in 1991, were PART-TIME Military personel, who had older equipment, {Older Weapons, Older Weapon Systems, etc.,}  were deployed as a second waive of attack, if the FULL-TIME REGULAR U.S. Military, failed to defeat the Iraqi Armored Forces, during the 1991 Gulf War, in addition to taking part in defensive military operations, MOST OF THE TIME.

In present times, since the 2003 Middle East War started, U.S. Military Reserve Units {National Guard} , have received longer periods of active duty, more training, and better equipment than before the period of time, 1979 - 2000.

=> More Training, and better equipment creates better troops.

It is a clear fact of history, since the close of the Korean War, 1950 -1953, leading all the way up until the year 2000, there was a BIG DIFFERENCE Between Full-Time Regular U.S. Military Personnel, and U.S. Military Reserves {National Guard}

During my breaks in Full-Time Regual U.S. Military Service, I had also served in the U.S. Military Reserve, and State of Maine National Guard.

=> It was very easy to get along with former Full-Time Regular U.S. Military Members.

The resentment was very clear, at that time, of some Reservists {National Guards}, who NEVER served in the Full - Time U.S. Military, and those Reservists {National Guards}, who were even KICKED OUT of the Full - Time U.S. Military, but were allowed to serve in the Reserves {National Guard}

In any event, I was proud to have been in the MAJOR LEAGUES, which the Full-Time U.S. Regular Army, and Full-Time U.S. Marines were during the period of time 1979 - 2000, where the Reserves and National Guard were the MINOR LEAGUES, or second string, at that time, due to the quality resources, which were issued, at that time.

Due to better training since the year 2003, I am presently very proud of both U.S. Military Reserve, and National Guard Part - Time service, in addition to FULL-TIME REGULAR U.S. MILITARY SERVICE.
